Match Day Notes
PAX, after a long off season following a great last campaign, this year is finally upon us! Lets
start the season off strong, against a team who will definitely be prepared and isn’t too fond of us
as a club. Be prepared for them the play as a team and want to hit us. Lets play our game and
take it to them on both sides of the ball!
Please read through these notes carefully and reach out to me if you have any
questions/concerns.

Match Day Code of Conduct
We strive to promote and teach the sport of rugby, attracting and developing players
so that they may take the club forward or continue their rugby journey elsewhere. We
promote discipline, respect and integrity, both on and off the field. The adults will become
role models for the children and the children will have a future in rugby with our encouragement. Together we will secure the reputation of this club in Southern Maryland as a welcoming organization that people wish to be a part of.
|
What we do Be punctual Wear a shirt at all times Minimize swearing on the sidelines No shouting at the referee from the sidelines Never make fun of the opposition Never talk back to the referee Accept the team selection |
|
Why we do it Your team needs you on time and ready to play Your tattooed, flabby body probably should be covered We want children and partners to enjoy the atmosphere Without him, there would be no game We know how this feels This is a captain’s privilege It isn’t just about you |
On the field, our goal is to play rugby with controlled aggression and well-executed basic skills. We will respect both the referee and the opposition, so we will not resort to jeering, goading, or back-chat. If our rugby is good enough, there is no need for talk; if it isn’t, then we accept it and fight to the final whistle. If our players make mistakes, then we will encourage them through example and will not undermine them. What happens on the field stays on the field, so we shake hands and share a beer afterwards, in the traditional rugby way.
