Youth Rugby

The Patuxent River Rugby Club is pleased to announce the 2011 Summer coed “touch only” youth rugby program that will take to the fields this summer, starting 24 May 2011. The youth program is open to all children 5-14 years of age. All boys and girls looking to try a new, fast-paced and highly team-oriented sport are encouraged to participate. Always excepting new players throughout the season.

- The Patuxent River Rugby youth program is a “non-contact” sport; becoming increasingly popular in the local area, we adhere to the highest standards of sports professionalism and promote nothing less than fair play, solid teamwork, and true sports etiquette

- The season will run from 24 May and will continue until 31 July.

- Practice will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 pm until 7:15 pm at our home field (Across From Clarkes Landing Restaurant) in Hollywood, MD. Youth from Calvert and St. Mary’s counties will be participating.

- Children will be divided into age appropriate groups and coached in the fundamentals of the game by coaches certified by USA Rugby.

- Participation in various tournaments and matches throughout the MD and DC areas will take place over the summer. No equipment needed to purchase for this non-contact version of the sport.

The Patuxent River Rugby Club has been in existence for 20 years and is a proud member of the Potomac Rugby Union.

Registration will be available on line at paxrugby.com and can be done at any of the practices. First Practice will be the 24th of May at 6pm. Always welcoming new players throughout the season, never too late to sign up. Updates for Registration will be posted on our website. Fee $40.00 with a $10.00 off discount per extra siblings.
